- I don't think that this is weird. If your public screen uses more colors or a
- higher resolution than it uses more DMA time. Since you have written that you
- use a "very low-powered machine" (in your original posting) your serial port
- might not be up to the task.

- Try to use a lower serial speed (e.g. 38400 if you use 57600) or try a
- serial.device replacement.
